MARK CAVENDISH
TOUR DE FRANCE BIKE 01

Cavendish Tour Bike

The high performance bike sector has for a long time known that one of the biggest sales drivers is weight. With both consumers and elite athletes focused on marginal gains to always improve performance.

SPT worked with Cervelo’s in-house design team to produce the most visually striking livery for Mark Cavendish’s 2017 Tour de France bike along with reducing the weight through the paint technology.

SPT worked closely with Cervelo, team sponsors Dimension Data and ENVE wheels to ensure that the design and finish matched the wider branding needs and team look and feel.

SPT created specially coated tooling blocks for the frames and forks. Cervelo sent the bike’s fork and frames to SPT weighing 990 grams, SPT sent the same equipment back fully painted ready for racing weighing 900 grams. Mark Cavendish was overwhelmed with the look and feel of his 2017 Tour De France bike.
